Picturesque village, River Walkham Valley. Golden Hind, surmounting globe, carved on Drake's pew in church of St Andrew. Chapel south of chancel, a tribute to generations of Drakes at Buckland Abbey. Virtuous Lady arsenic and copper mine to north, worked until 1870.
