Pretty village pleasantly situated on the banks of the small River Taw four miles from Okehampton. Mentioned in the Domesday Book and known then as ‘East Ash.’ St Andrews Church contains many plaques and memorials to local people inside including the Oxenham family who held a large estate nearby during the 18thC.
