Apple, Pear, Oak and Acorn Cottage [all 4 star] each provide comfortable surroundings in the middle of Devon for walking, cycling, horse riding, relaxing, sightseeing & touring. The cottages are located in the middle of a small farm, near the northern edge of Dartmoor, with nearby access to the good A30 dual carriageway.

Directions

Leave M5 at junction 31 to join the A30 towards Bodmin. Some 21 miles later, take the Okehampton [Belstone] exit from the A30 dual carriageway, travel past the B.P. (Whitehouse) Services - petrol station, shop & restaurant - for 250 yards then turn left (at Tongue End X). Travel uphill signed to Sampford Courtenay and travel above the dual-carriageway. Bear right at brow of hill (Crossways X) travel downhill for 400 yards & turn next right (Beer X) towards Taw Green (signed). After 800 yards Beer Farm is shown on the left (large farm sign). Beer Farm is named as just 'Beer' on local Ordnance Survey maps. Map reference: SX 633 958

Our four interesting self-catering cottages were created from traditional stone barns. They are well furnished and equipped with Freeview TV, DVD/ VCR, CD/cassette player, combination microwave, full size oven, dishwasher, & fridge/freezer. Three cottages have showers over baths, although Acorn Cottage has a walk-in wet/shower room. Oak Cottage has en suite facilities in one of its double bedrooms, as well as a family bathroom and a shower room.

Acorn Cottage is suited to the less mobile too, meeting N.A.S. Mobility Level 2.

Central heating is available throughout the cottages and each of the two 3-bedroom cottages - Apple & Oak - has a wood-burning stove in its sitting room.

An enclosed garden provides each cottage with a paved area with table, chairs & sunshades!

The games room offers table tennis, darts, chess, draughts, a book & a DVD/tape library.

Dogs &/or horses - with good stabling, undercover grooming facility and horse trailer/box parking - may be accommodated by prior arrangement. Most cottages have a car port and there is a car park too.

Bed-linen, towels and hot water are provided without additional charge.

Sleeping capacity - The total of 10 bedrooms can accommodate 20 people and some sofa-beds may be available for short-stays too. Each 3 bedroom cottage adjoins a 2 bedroom cottage and the internal doors can be opened, if required, by a family/group.
